Welcome to the Western States Farriers Association (WSFA), an organization dedicated to promoting excellence in the art and science of farriery in the western region of the United States. Established in 1978, WSFA has been a driving force in the western farrier community, fostering camaraderie among professionals, facilitating education and training, and upholding the highest standards of farriery and horsemanship.

Our organization aims to bring together farriers from various backgrounds and experience levels, creating a supportive network where members can learn, grow, and share their knowledge with one another. Whether you are a seasoned professional or just starting your journey as a farrier, WSFA provides a platform for personal and professional development.

One of the primary objectives of WSFA is to promote continuing education and skill enhancement. We organize regular clinic and workshops featuring renowned experts and industry leaders. These events cover a wide range of topics, including the latest techniques in hoof care, advancements in equine podiatry, forging and shoeing methods, and business management skills. By staying at the forefront of industry developments, WSFA members are equipped to provide the highest quality hoof care services to their clients.

The WSFA seeks to foster a sense of community among its members: farriery can be a physically demanding and mentally challenging profession, and our association provides a platform for farriers to connect, collaborate, and support one another. Through local events, meetings, and online forums, WSFA members can engage in meaningful discussions, seek advice, and share their experiences. This sense of belonging to a larger community of like-minded professionals is invaluable in an industry where continuous learning and support are essential.

As an organization deeply committed to the well-being of horses, WSFA actively promotes responsible horsemanship. We emphasize the importance of ethical treatment, sound hoof care practices, and fostering healthy relationships between farriers, horse owners, and veterinarians. By championing these values, we strive to raise the bar for farriery standards across the western states.

In addition to our educational initiatives, WSFA organizes competitions and demonstrations to showcase the talent and craftsmanship of our members. These events allow farriers to display their expertise, exchange ideas, and inspire others through their work.

Whether you are a farrier seeking professional growth, an equine enthusiast wanting to learn more about hoof care, or a horse owner looking for a qualified farrier, WSFA is here to support you. We invite you to join our association and become part of a thriving community that celebrates the art and science of farriery.

Come and experience the Western States Farriers Association — where knowledge, camaraderie, and horsemanship unite to shape the future of farriery in the western region.
